on anticipation

the germans have a saying that i really buy into, “die vorfreude ist die beste freude”, which basically means that the anticipation for something is as wonderful as what you have been looking forward to.

which would explain why sometimes an event or trip or new car doesn’t quite live up to your expectations…

for example, i am going away with friends for the weekend, and it is expected to be a wonderfully wicked weekend. we’ve all been saying, “i can’t wait” for days! the anticipation has been palpable…

and so now i just hope that it will pan out as fabulously as one hopes. but seeing as i am going with d & c, i am sure it will.

i can’t wait!
